Privacy Policy for Wingify Experiment Inspector

This Privacy Policy describes how the Wingify Experiment Inspector Chrome Extension ("we," "our," or "us") handles information when you use the extension.

1. Purpose of the Extension

Wingify Experiment Inspector is a developer and quality assurance tool designed to help users identify active Wingify experiments running on the webpage they are currently viewing.

The extension allows users to manually inspect experiment information, such as the experiment ID, experiment name, test type, test URL, and the variation currently being served on the webpage.

2. Data Collection and Usage

The extension only accesses webpage information when the user explicitly starts an experiment check.

• Webpage Content: The extension reads relevant Wingify experiment information available on the current webpage to identify active experiments and their corresponding variations.
• Active Tab Information: The extension accesses the URL of the current active tab to identify the webpage being inspected.
• Experiment Cookies: When required for experiment detection, the extension may read relevant experiment cookies associated with the webpage. These values are used only to help determine the experiment or variation currently assigned to the visitor.

The information accessed by the extension is used solely to provide experiment inspection results to the user through the extension interface.

3. Data Storage and Transfer

• No Data Storage: The extension does not permanently store, save, or maintain a database of the webpage or experiment information it reads.
• No External Data Transfer: The extension does not send webpage content, experiment information, cookie values, or browsing data to external servers.
• Local Processing: Experiment inspection and processing are performed locally within the browser.
• No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties for advertising or other purposes.

4. Permissions

The extension requests permissions that are necessary to perform its single purpose of inspecting active Wingify experiments on webpages.

• tabs: Used to identify the URL of the current active tab so the extension can determine which webpage is being inspected.
• scripting: Used to execute the required inspection script on the current webpage when the user explicitly starts a scan.
• cookies: Used when necessary to read relevant experiment cookies that help identify the experiment or variation assigned to the current visitor.
• Host Permissions: Used to allow the extension to inspect webpages where Wingify experiments may be running. The extension does not continuously monitor webpages and only performs an inspection when initiated by the user.

5. User Control

The extension does not automatically scan webpages in the background. An experiment check is initiated by the user through the extension interface.

Users can choose when to run the inspection and can disable or remove the extension at any time through Chrome's extension settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Wingify Experiment Inspector is a developer and quality assurance tool and is not intended for children under the age of 13. The extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the functionality, permissions, or data handling practices of the extension change. Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
